What’s Good: “Smallest Baby In Texas” Becomes Nurse
The circle of life seems to be complete in Texas.
There is a 34-year-old woman named Tammy Lewis who once held the state record in Texas for being the smallest, premature baby to ever survive. She was born three and a half months early in Temple Texas, only weighing 1 pound and 4 ounces! Thanks to some great doctors and nurses she survived.
Tammy has now decide to repay that favor by making her career as a nurse at the SAME hospital that saved her life! She is actually a respiratory therapist for the neonatal intensive care unit. Basically she helps to save other premature newborns that would not make it on their own.
Tammy said that she always knew she wanted to work at that specific hospital ever since first training to become a nurse. When she started, she even got to work with some of the original doctors and nurses that helped to save her.
