What’s Good: Man Pulled Over By Cops Gets Ride To Job Interview
When you get pulled over by a police officer, you don't normally expect to be offered a ride to your job interview...but that is exactly what happened to this young man!
On Wednesday in Cahokia, Ka'Shawn Baldwin was on the way to a job interview when he got pulled over by a police officer. Officer Roger Gemoules pulled over Baldwin for having expired license plates and he also did not have a valid drivers license. Baldwin said that he knew his driver's license was suspended but he was unaware the license plates on the car he had borrowed from a friend were expired.
The Officer said that Baldwin was very respectful when he was pulled over and informed him that he was on the way to a job interview and had no other form of transportation to get to the interview. Officer Gemoules informed Baldwin that he could not drive the car any further and Baldwin did the only thing he could think of, he asked the officer if he could give him a ride to the job interview.
Surprisingly enough, Officer Gemoules not only agreed but followed Baldwin home to park the car, took him to the job interview and did not give him a ticket! Why did he do this? Well, Officer Gemoules told KSDK, ""He was polite when I pulled him over and he seemed like a good young man, so I wanted to give him a chance. I knew if I gave him a bunch of tickets and towed his car, it would be tough to recover from."
Later that day, Baldwin reported his experience on Facebook and it went viral! Not only that but Baldwin also got the job a few days later and made sure to thank the officer again through Facebook.
