If you are frugal and save your money well but don't know what to do with all the money you save, here is an option!

An Iowa guy named Dale Schroeder worked as a carpenter for 67 years and as you can imagine did not make much money. However, that was okay because he was very frugal, had no kids and never spent any money on himself. He was so frugal that it was said by friends that he only had two pairs of jeans: work and church jeans.

Unfortunately, Schroeder died in 2005 but is still remembered well which is why he is in the news today. You see, before Schroeder passed away he told his friend, who is a lawyer, that he wanted to do something good with his savings and when the lawyer asked him how much he had in his savings, Schroeder said 3 Million dollars! Talk about being frugal.

Well, Schroeder decided to money to set up a scholarship fund for kids who couldn't afford college tuition. He had always wished he could have gone to college when he was young but couldn't afford it, so with his life savings after he passed away, he ended up paying for 33 total strangers to get a college education. The lucky strangers call themselves "Dale's Kids," and all 33 of them just got together this past Saturday to share stories, and talk about how he's totally transformed their lives.
