What’s Good: “Baby Shark” Helps Toddler With Spina Bifida Walk
Who knew the most annoying song in the world for parents would actually be useful?
There is a two-year-old named Harper Comparin, from Florida, who was born with severe Spina Bifida. Her parents did not know if she would ever walk because of this. That is, until "Baby Shark" came around.
Harper's doctor, Michelle Schultz, has been working with her at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg and really wanted to get her walking. So, she decided to see if the "Baby Shark" theme and dance would help because every time it comes on Harper gets very excited.
Schultz used the theme song as a metronome for Harper to walk to the beat to and it helped her to take her first few steps. It may have only been a few but her parents are amazed she could even do those few. Now, she is walking all over and getting stronger every day.
