A West Union man has been charged in connection with a weekend hit-and-run accident in Fayette County.

At about 4pm Saturday, the Fayette County Sheriff was alerted of a two-vehicle, hit and run accident, at the intersection of "K" Avenue and 40th Street, east of Oelwein.

A car driven by 19 year old Dallas Ellefson of Decorah was rear-ended by a pickup, which fled the scene. However, Ellefson copied down the license plate number, and the driver, 29 year old Ryan Jonsberg of West Union, was later located by authorities.

Jonsberg is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident, and following too close. No injuries were reported. There was $2,000 damage to Ellefson's car and no damage to Jonsberg's pickup.
