Fatal Accident in Cedar Falls

Cedar Falls Police are investigating a fatal single vehicle accident in Cedar Falls today (Monday, Nov. 21, 2016).

According to the Cedar Falls Police Department, The Black Hawk County Consolidated Dispatch Center received a call of a single vehicle accident at the interchange of Iowa Highway 57 with US Hwy 218 just before 3:00 P.M. Witnesses reported that a vehicle struck a pillar at the interchange.

The initial investigation indicates that there was only one vehicle involved in the accident. An eastbound vehicle left the roadway and struck a concrete pillar for the US Hwy 218 overpass. The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was found deceased at the accident scene.

UPDATE: Police Identify Crash Victim

Cedar Falls Public Safety Officials were assisted by Sartori Paramedics, the Iowa State Patrol, and the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Department.

The investigation is on-going. More information will released at a later time.
