The second annual Rise 2 Greatness celebrity softball game is headed to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The game will be played on Saturday, July 29th, at Veterans Memorial Stadium and there will be a fireworks show after the game.

According to KCRG, here is the chance for eastern Iowans to see local celebrities, which will include some former Major League Baseball, as well as former National Football League players, face off in a game of softball.

Plenty of people around the state of Iowa have read about the incredible charity work Willie Ray Fairley has been a part of. It seems like any time there's some kind of natural disaster, we're learning about Willie putting together a team to go and help in any way he can. He has been invited to participate in this celebrity softball game.

After an incredible season for the University of Iowa's women's basketball team, it would only make sense to find a lady Hawkeye on the list. Hannah Stuelke is a Cedar Rapids native who attended Washington High School and she will also be participating in the celebrity softball game.

According to the Rise 2 Greatness Facebook page, the 2023 celebrity softball rosters will feature former players who've played in a combined 248 MLB seasons, 23 NFL seasons, 20 All-Star Appearances, 14 gold glove winners, 7 World Series Champions, and 2 Super Bowl Champions.

Not only will the stars be out in Cedar Rapids, this is a fantastic event for the kids! The first 500 kids, ages 12 and under, get in for free and there will be a youth homerun derby taking place before the softball game.

All of the proceeds from the 2nd annual celebrity softball game will benefit the Jerry Ford Grow the Game fund. According to Rise 2 Greatness, these proceeds will help provide a citywide kids' baseball league that is free, in Cedar Rapids.

The game is at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids on Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. A fireworks display follows the game. Tickets can be purchased here. All proceeds support The Jerry Ford Grow the Game Fund.
