An Iowa Hero and His Team Have Completed Their Mission
An Iowa hero has made many various trips across the United States to help people in need. Willie Ray Fairley is the owner of Willie Ray's Q Shack in Cedar Rapids and he and his team have helped provide food to those in Florida who have been impacted by Hurricane Ian.
Fairly has made multiple tornado victims in Kentucky, he's helped feed Texas after a snowstorm that knocked out power, and he's given away free food right here in Iowa after the derecho.
Fairly and his team have been shining examples of what it means to help others. He recently made the trip down to Florida, with one of the smallest teams he's ever traveled with, to do what he's always done in times of crisis, and that's to serve others.
According to Willie Ray's Q Shack Facebook page, their mission in Florida has been completed.
The Facebook post mentions the smaller group that made the trip but it also states how thankful Fairly was for the people that traveled with them.
"This has to be one of the smallest groups we have traveled with. Let me tell you, all of us worked out butts off. Words can't explain how proud I am of these guys. Thank you for all your hard work and to everyone who donated to make this possible."
Fairly's dedication to helping others has always made headlines in the state of Iowa but did you know it has also been recognized at a national level? According to KCRG, Fairly was named one of Fortune's 50 Greatest Leaders, and has previously been awarded as an Outstanding Individual Philanthropist by the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
As someone who is still relatively new to Iowa, it's amazing to see this one Iowa man with so much dedication to helping other people. Whether they are his neighbors or live in different parts of the country, he always seems to find a way to help where he can. Everyone in Iowa can be proud to have this man call Iowa home. Willie Ray Fairly of Willie Ray's Q Shack is someone we can all inspire to be more like and someone we can all look up to.
