I'm going to shoot straight with you. Worst is a pretty harsh word. In this instance, worst might actually mean the best...

I know, it's a bit confusing, but let me explain.

A content creator who goes by the name "World According to Briggs" puts together travel information and entertainment videos.

He focuses mainly on videos directed towards people interested in real estate or relocating or who just want to learn more about the United States.

Briggs created a series of videos about the "worst" rural towns to live in in the United States. Each state has it's own corresponding video.

When this guy says "worst" he actually means most affordable.

"The problem is when a place is considered great, it is also expensive. That is how the world is when something is good and most people want it it is expensive," Briggs explained.

Volga or Volga City has a population of just over 200. It's named after the Volga River that flows through the area.

Briggs cited the reason for this ranking is because the town has a higher crime rate than the national average. In addition to that, almost ten percent of residents in Volga live below the poverty line.

However, a few perks to living in Volga include: their cost of living which is 25% lower than the national average, and their real estate costs.

Some of the homes that go on the market in this town are under $50,000!
