A woman from Western Iowa is the subject of a major investigation. Lucy Studey is working with investigators to solve possibly one of the biggest serial murder cases in the state. Studey claims that her father, Donald Dean Studey, would make her and her other siblings dispose of the corpses of women he murdered.

According to reports, the woman claims that her father killed anywhere between 50 and 70 people over the span of several decades. Donald apparently made his children dump the bodies in a well on their property in Thurman, Iowa.

"Every time I went to the well or into the hills, I didn't think I was coming down. I thought he would kill me because I wouldn't keep my mouth shut."

One of the leads on this case at the local level, Fremont County Sheriff Kevin Aistrope, believes the claims that Lucy has made. She has been working with investigators on this case, even telling these officials the spots where the victims are buried on the five acres of woods he owned.

Cadaver dogs were taken out to the property, and according to Newsweek, "went directly to the spots where Studey had said since she was a child that bodies had been buried."

In a story and interview with Newsweek, Lucy's sister Susan completely rejects these claims. This signifies to their handler that there is an "odor of human decomposition in the area."

Law enforcement officials suspect her father's victims to be primarily "sex workers or transients" that were picked up in Omaha.

But what about those "hits" that the cadaver dogs got on the property?

According to Susan, they are just animal bones, their old golden retriever, and the remains of their stillborn sister.

The cost to excavate the well to search for these bodies would be about $300,000. Studey passed away in 2013 at the age of 75 in Thurman. We will keep you updated as this case progresses.

See Inside Roseanne Barr's Eldon Mansion

Roseanne Barr was set to make a home in Iowa. She and her then-husband Tom Arnold were in the midst of building a mansion in Eldon. It was put on hold when the couple eventually split up. This left a beautiful, unfinished, and kind of spooky mansion behind.
