218 southbound in Bremer County is clear now after an early morning scare out on the roads. According to the county sheriff's office, icy road conditions near Waverly led to a semi-truck turning over.

Officials confirmed that roads were icy overnight and into the early hours of the morning. These conditions caused authorities in Bremer County to deal with multiple cars that ended up in ditches over a span of several hours.

One of the biggest accidents involved the before mentioned semi truck turnover near Waverly. Highway 218 Southbound lanes were closed from the 205 exit to the 203 exit for the vehicle.

Authorities were redirecting traffic through the 205 exit through Waverly and then back to Highway 3 and the 203 exit. By around 5:30 AM this morning, officials confirmed that roads in that neck of the woods are open now!

Bremer County Sheriff's office officials shared photos of the incident along with road conditions. Straightforward and to the point their caption read,

"Ok peeps here we go again. Roads are crap!!!!"

Officials still recommend driving slowly on the way into work this morning. We will continue to keep you up to date with road conditions and safety tips throughout the day.
