It's a bird...

It's a plane...

No, IT'S ON FIRE!

Well, a BALL of fire, but...same difference.

Early on the morning of Tuesday, July 26th local authorities captured a strange sight in the sky. The Bremer County Sheriff's department shared photos and videos from the dashboard camera that showed a fireball fly across the sky.

The Sheriff's department posted photos on the organization's social media account a few hours after the incident.

An officer captured the footage and photos while on patrol early Tuesday morning just south of Tripoli. The video and photos put the meteor over that part of Iowa at around 3:00 AM.

A fireball is another word for a bright meteor, according to the American Meteor Society.

Meteors are actually pieces of space debris that burn up while in the Earth's atmosphere.

From the looks of the images captured this might have been a fireball, which is like a regular meteor that is brighter than the planet Venus.

According to officials, several thousand meteors that are of fireball magnitude appear in the atmosphere every single day.

Take a look at the fireball that came through Eastern Iowa! You can watch the full video from Iowa News Now down below!
