New Beer And Bacon Event Kicks Off In Cedar Falls

This year, downtown Cedar Falls will be having an exciting new event to bring two of the greatest inventions in the history of humankind together: beer and bacon.

The 1st ever Beer & Bacon Event in Downtown Cedar Falls will incorprate the local businesses and restaurants. Many of the local merchants will be incorporating bacon and beer into their products, food, or general experience.

The event is on Saturday, October 16th in Downtown Cedar Falls. It kicks off at 10 AM and goes ALL day. Stores in the district will be participating during their normal store hours, a few of which are open until 7 PM.

It seems like quite a bit of change is coming to the Downtown Cedar Falls area this year. Several new restaurants have opened over the course of the last few months. One of them opened right next to the historic Black Hawk Hotel. It is called Carter House and the eatery specializes in take-out friendly food, charcuterie, etc.

Another restaurant that opened last month is Georges Local. It is located right next to Whiskey Road and actually takes the place of Santa's Workshop. The physical structure of the holiday home was sold to a couple who then donated it to the town of Traer.
