Now that I've dug myself out of that blizzard we just had...

First off, are they always like this? We didn't get a whole lot of snow here in the Cedar Valley, but dang was this day a doozy. It looks like that some parts of Iowa are still dangerous to travel in, so make sure to stay up to date with all of that information through our app.

The road conditions in some areas are still a bit dicey, but it looks like the Cedar Valley might be done with this specific storm.

The roads were rough when I made my way home after the show. Everything was still coming down, so the drive had a bit nervous. Usually once I hop on the highway everything is perfect and the drive is a breeze. Not this time.

The roads, as I previously mentioned were bad, visibility was bad...everything was bad. It would not have been so bad if it weren't for the wind.

Wait...since I said that...am I...officially an Iowan?

In all seriousness, the Cedar Valley did get a decent amount of snow, and the strong gusts of wind that came through made travel impossible.

This was my first major snow storm in Iowa, so once it was safe out I took a quick walk to see how Downtown Cedar Falls looked. The plows were coming out and people were shoveling out the sidewalks. It still looked kind of beautiful...in a very cold, very snowy way.
