Eastern Iowa Woman Wins Halloween Lottery Prize
People in the Hawkeye State are winning big with various lottery prizes. It sure does seem like everyone else has all of the luck, right?
Iowans Winning Big Lotto Prizes This Fall
Earlier this month, someone in California won the elusive Powerball jackpot. It was a measly $1.75 billion payout. Someone in Iowa came pretty darn close to getting a piece of that money!
The prize money was building up for thirty-five back-to-back drawings since July. In a statement from the Iowa Lottery's official social media platforms, a ticket that was purchased in the Hawkeye State was one number away from sharing that huge jackpot prize.
Black Hawk County Lottery Winner
And another Iowa lottery player won a pretty sizeable prize, just in time for Halloween!
According to reports from the Iowa Lottery, Paula Lutgen of Gilbertville bought a ticket for the Iowa Lottery's "$50,000 Super Crossword" scratch game earlier this month.
This scratch game ticket only cost her $5. It features more than a hundred top prizes of $50,000 with approximate overall odds of 1 in 3.26. Lutgen ended up winning $50,000 after playing the game.
The Black Hawk County woman purchased this lucky ticket at a Casey's located at 115 25th Avenue in Gilbertville. She claimed her hefty prize on Friday, October 27th at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids, according to reports.
