Iowan Comes Inches from $1.75 Billion Powerball Jackpot
People all across the country have been purchasing Powerball tickets for the chance to win the HUGE jackpot prize. This time around, the payout was $1.75 billion.
On Wednesday, there was in fact a winner of the Powerball jackpot!
A winning ticket was sold in California, but one person in Iowa got pretty darn close. This is the second time in the last year that a California resident took home the prize, according to reports.
The prize money has been building up for thirty-five back-to-back drawings since July. In a statement from the Iowa Lottery's official social media platforms, a ticket that was purchased in the Hawkeye State was one number away from sharing that huge jackpot prize.
Bought in Clarion at a Casey's, the ticket matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball. While this ticket owner will not be bringing home the $1.75 billion, they will still be $50,000 richer.
No winner has come forward yet to claim their prize. We will keep you updated once the news and winner are made public!
