Golfers here in Eastern Iowa are going to be very excited about this news! According to a new article from the Cedar Rapids Gazette, construction is going to start this summer on a Toptracer golf facility over in Tiffin! The article reads:

"The facility, which will include a driving range with 52 'covered and heated bays' and a full-service restaurant and bar, will be inside the Park Place development located on Forevergreen Road and Interstate 380."

Golfers here in the Midwest typically have a short window of good golfing weather each year, but the addition of this new facility means that they will be able to practice their swing all year round using "state of the art technology." The Topgolf website explains that "Toptracer tracks the flight path of every golf shot and displays it right on your bay’s HD screen." If you're not familiar with it, here's a quick video that shows how it works:

The Think Iowa City Facebook page says the new 40,000 square-foot Toptracer facility in Tiffin will be two-stories and fit over 1,000 people. It sounds like it's going to be pretty darn impressive! Unfortunately, it's going to be quite awhile before it's complete. The Gazette article says it's not expected to open to Eastern Iowa golfers until the spring of next year. Good things come to those who wait!
