'Weird Al' Yankovic as the Super Bowl Halftime Show?  It could happen if one diehard 'Weird Al' fan gets his way.

Superfan Ed Ball has started a campaign to convince the NFL to book the parody artist for the famous spot.  Ball started an online petition on Change.org.  His goal is to gather 50,000 digital signatures.  So far, 36,000 fans have joined the drive to have 'Weird Al' on the halftime stage.

‘Weird Al’ Yankovic fans are a powerful force, as proven by the parodist’s recent No. 1 album and by the new campaign to get him to next year’s Super Bowl.

“Having him headline the Super Bowl XLIX Halftime Show would not only be overly accepted by the millions of views, but it would remain true to the standards and quality of the show business we have come to love and respect out of this prestigious event.” - Ed Ball said on his Change.org petition

Weird Al’s recent album ‘Mandatory Fun’ parodies a slew of chart-topping songs that Super Bowl audiences would likely recognize, such as ‘Handy,’ a parody of Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy,’ and ‘Word Crimes,’ a spoof of Robin Thicke’s ‘Blurred Lines.’
