Do you blame yourself, the city, or the police if your car gets towed during a snow emergency? Well, the Waterloo police department wants to make it clear: a snow emergency was issued and, if you got towed in Waterloo, it's not their fault. On its official Facebook page, the Waterloo Police Department stated,

If your vehicle was towed because of the "Snow Emergency" and you have an issue please do not contact the Police Department you may contact the Waterloo Street Department at 319-291-4267.

It is hard to argue, the snow emergency was issued yesterday afternoon and members of the local media, including this station, passed the info along. Most of the comments on the post were positive and Facebook users seemed to appreciate the work being done by those tasked with cleaning city streets.

The post ends with an important message,

Please drive and stay safe.

Good advice indeed.
