Waterloo Police Investigating Homicide

Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Waterloo.

Officers were called to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital Friday night on a report that a male was seeking treatment for gunshot wounds. Police said the injured male arrived at the hospital by private vehicle.

The shooting victim died a short time later, police said.

According to police, the incident is being investigating as a homicide. An autopsy has been scheduled at the State Medical Examiner’s Office.

Authorities did not immediately identify the person killed in the shooting. The location and approximate time of the shooting were not released.

Police expect to release more information later.
