Right now safety and clean hands are at the TOP of everyone's mind. When you do have to venture out to the store, it's important that you keep your hands clean (and that you not touch your face). But wearing gloves, while smart, can still lead to illness and does not guarantee you won't get COVID-19. According to an article from Elle, most of us don't take gloves off correctly. When you take them off the wrong way, you get the germs that were on the gloves all over yourself.

Here's the proper way to remove them:

  • Pinch one glove near the wrist and pull it over your hand, so it ends up inside out.
  • Then hold it in your gloved hand, stick your finger inside the wrist of that glove, and pull until it's inside out and both gloves are together.
  • Then throw them in the trash and wash your hands. The CDC website has a full breakdown on how to do it.
