Two Injured In Three-Vehicle Crash Near La Porte City

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle crash near La Porte City.

The accident happened just before 6 PM Friday in the 11000 block of U.S. Highway 218 (La Porte Road), about three-and-a-half miles northwest of La Porte City.

According to Black Hawk County sheriff's officials, a southbound car slammed into the back of a Dodge Ram pick-up truck that was stopped behind a Chevrolet pick-up, which was waiting for on-coming traffic to pass to make a turn. The impact of the collision pushed the Ram pick-up into the other stopped pick-up.

Sheriff's officials said the drivers of the Ram pick-up and the car both suffered unknown injuries. They were taken to a Waterloo hospital for treatment.

All three vehicle were driven by adult males from La Porte City, authorities said. They did not release any names.

La Porte City Police, Fire and Ambulance assisted sheriff's deputies as the scene.
