“The Big Bang Theory” Breaks Impressive Record
The nerds have taken over!
The Big Bang Theory first aired back in 2007 and the show is now the longest running multi-camera sitcom in history. In the show's final season, the show will complete it's run with a total of 279 episodes.
The previous record holder was the 80's and 90's mega-hit Cheers. The crew of The Big Bang Theory celebrated taking over the top spot with a party that was posted to Instagram by cast member Mayim Bialik (Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler).
In the show's 279 episode run, the only cast member/character to appear in every episode is Kaley Cuoco (Penny).
