Some suspicious activity on the southeast side of Oelwein, has resulted in the arrest of a local man, for an outstanding warrant.

While out on patrol last Friday night (June 25) at about 9:45pm, Oelwein Police officers checked on suspicious activity in the ten block of 20th Street SE. Following the investigation, 27 year old Zackery Frazer of Oelwein was taken into custody on a Fayette County warrant. He was originally charged with four counts of Forgery.

Also Friday afternoon, Oelwein Police were notified of an alleged shoplifting incident in the 1300 block of South Frederick Avenue. Charges are pending, and the investigation continues.

And Monday morning (June 28) at about 8:45am, officers were summoned to the area of 3rd Avenue SE, for dogs that were running loose. The owner of the animals was located in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue SE. She was identified as 31 year old Katie Holden of Oelwein. Holden was cited for violating a city ordinance, pertaining to Allowing Dogs to Run at-Large.
