A trial date has now been set for "The Bachelor" star Chris Soules, charged with leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

The 35 year old Soules of Arlington, was the driver of a pickup that rear-ended a farm tractor in rural Buchanan County near Aurora in April, killing 66 year old Kenneth Mosher of rural Aurora.

Authorities accuse Soules left the accident scene before law enforcement and emergency personnel arrived.

Soules' attorneys claim that he did call 911, gave dispatchers information on the accident, and attempted to give aid to Mosher before he left in another vehicle. He was arrested several hours later at his home.

Law enforcement also noted they found containers of alcohol in and around Soules' vehicle.

Soules has pleaded "not guilty" to the charge.

On Thursday (May 17), the judge in the case scheduled Soules' trial for July 19th, with a pretrial conference on July 11th, all in Buchanan County District Court in Independence.

If convicted, Soules faces up to 5 years in prison.

Soules gained nation-wide fame when he starred in "The Bachelor" tv show, as well as being a celebrity contestant on "Dancing with the Stars".
