Last year, RAYGUN officials announced that they would be opening a new location in Iowa.

Downtown Cedar Falls will have its very own RAYGUN located at 205 Main Street. This will be the company's seventh store location. The newest store in Cedar Falls is sharing a space with a Des Moines based record store called Vinyl Cup Records.

Vinyl Cup Records is described as a "...unique record digging experience focused around customer service and quality product!"

If you checked out the opening of this new vinyl store on Main Street on March 11th, you might have been privy to some exciting new information. RAYGUN opened its doors for a select number of people in Cedar Falls for a few hours that Friday.

At 5pm, the store next door opened for a short time to give locals a bit of a preview for what customers will expect. They had the new Cedar Falls and Waterloo designs out.

Here are just a few of the new Cedar Valley specific pieces of merchandise.

Months after that original announcement, we finally have an official opening date for this popular store. The Cedar Falls RAYGUN will celebrate its grand opening on Friday March 18th from 5-7PM, according to the owner.

The regular business hours after the grand opening will be:

Monday: 10am-6pm

Tuesday: 10am-6pm

Wednesday: 10am-6pm

Thursday: 10am-6pm

Friday: 10am-7pm

Saturday: 10am-7pm

Sunday: 11am-6pm

According to the store's website, the owners have been checking out this area for years.

In 2018, they tried to get the spot that Verve Kombucha Brewing in Waterloo is currently located in.

In a sign along the property before major work was done on the shop, the owners admitted that they signed a lease for their Omaha space in December of 2019 with the intention to open in May of 2020. Due to the pandemic that delayed the store's opening.

There are so many new businesses that have opened up in the Cedar Valley this year.

Most of these growing businesses are restaurants. Several new spots have opened this summer in Cedar Falls. A take-out-friendly restaurant called  Carter House opened right next to the Black Hawk Hotel.

In addition, a restaurant located in the same spot as Santa's Workshop in Cedar Falls just opened its doors, it's called Georges.

ICON Donut, a popular spot in Waterloo is expanding and opened a Cedar Falls bakery at the end of November last year.
