Police Make Arrest After Residents Report “That Smell”
An investigation into the report of an odd smell on the south side of Oelwein last night (Monday, Jan. 21), resulted in the arrest of a local man.
Shortly before 9:30pm Monday, Oelwein Police responded to the report of a suspicious odor in the 900 block of South Frederick Avenue.
Investigating officers ended up arresting 19 year old Kaleb Huffman of Oelwein, on charges of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver, and Failure to Affix Drug Tax Stamp.
Police checking on a parking complaint in Oelwein Monday afternoon (Jan. 21) arrested an Oelwein man on an outstanding arrest warrant.
After police responded to the complaint in the 300 block of 5th Street SE, they took 55 year old Jeffery Friis into custody on a Department of Corrections warrant for a Parole Violation on the original charges of habitual violator, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Eluding.
