Usually, when you hear about Iowa lottery winners, you hear a story about a win worth thousands, hundreds of thousands, or even millions of dollars. Tyler's story doesn't involve life-changing money that sets up his entire family. It doesn't even involve money he could use on a house for a downpayment, money he could use to buy his dream car or money that could send him on a lavish vacation.

The amount of money won by Tyler wouldn't even get him a single burger a a fast food restaurant.

How Much Did Tyler Win?

The amount of money won by Tyler was enough to get him about half a gallon of gas. Tyler wanted to celebrate his $1.00 lottery win and the Iowa lottery rolled out the red carpet for him! He might not have won enough money to become a millionaire but Iowa Lottery officials gave him the millionaire treatment.

I'm not sure what Tyler was expecting when he arrived at the lottery office but the fact that officials played along with him and enjoyed the joke is awesome. Tyler really wanted one of those big novelty checks that the Iowa lottery presents to people who've won big, and sure enough, they got him his big check.

According to NBC News, Tyler said he thought it would be funny to show up at the lottery headquarters with a $1 winner.

"I just went by the state lottery office. I figured it would be worth a shot and they all thought it was really funny. I'm surprised nobody else has done this before."

Tyler seems like a guy you'd want to have a beer with. I love that he did this and I love that the lottery officials went with the joke.
