Floyd County authorities now confirm that a man pinned under a tractor over the weekend, died from his injuries.

Just after 8pm Sunday, the Floyd County Sheriff was called to a tractor rollover in the 1,000 block of 270th street, which is east of Dougherty, just inside the Floyd County line.

56 year old Gary Ewen of Dougherty was in the process of mowing ditches on his property with a tractor and sickle mower, when he struck a tree stump, causing his tractor to overturn in a ditch, and pinning him underneath.

Ewen was pronounced dead at the scene; he was taken to the Floyd County Medical center in Charles City by Greene Ambulance and First Responders.

Assisting at the scene were Marble Rock First Responders.
