Oelwein Police and the Fayette County Sheriff have arrested almost a dozen people in a major drug investigation in the city of Oelwein.

After an investigation that began several months ago, on Tuesday (Feb. 16) officers arrested 11 Oelwein-area residents.

Oelwein Police, Fayette County Deputies, the Iowa State Patrol, and the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement executed search warrants at residences at 107 7th Avenue NW, and 221 3rd Avenue SE in Oelwein.

As a result, arrested on various drug charges include:
37 year old Justin Buehler, 39 year old Julie Johnson, 28 year old Jennifer Krum, 60 year old Jeffery Euans, 52 year old Ron McLaury, 41 year old Nancy Latham, 52 year old George Kirkbride, 36 year old Venessa Smith, 26 year old Matthew Stacey, 37 year old Cody Reisner, and 28 year old Matthew Moore.

Reisner and Moore were already in jail when the charges were filed.

Some of the suspects were wanted on outstanding arrest warrants. The drugs found during the searches, were Methamphetamine, Marijuana, and Prescription Medications.

Additional charges are pending against other suspects in the investigation
