An accident on the southwest side of Oelwein has resulted in charges filed against one of the drivers.

It happened just before 3:30pm Monday (Sept. 13) at the intersection of 3rd Street and 7th Avenue Southwest.

A pickup driven by Frederick Cook, ran into another pickup driven by Dennis Nuss. No injuries were reported. There was $5,000 damage to Cook's 2013 Ford F-150 and $10,000 damage to Nuss' 2004 Nissan Titan.

Cook was cited for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign, and Failing to Yield the Right of Way.
Oelwein Police were assisted at the scene by Mercy Oelwein Ambulance and Oelwein Fire Department.

An Oelwein man is being charged with assault for an incident Monday night (Sept. 13) at about 8pm.

Oelwein Police were called out to investigate a disturbance in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue SE.

As a result, 19 year old Tanner Alan Steggall was taken into custody for Assault While Displaying a Dangerous Weapon.

Some suspicious activity reported on the northwest side of Oelwein, has resulted in the arrest of a local man.

According to the Oelwein Police Department, at about 11:45 am Saturday (Sept. 11), dispatch received a report of suspicious activity in the 700 block of 6th Street NW.

The investigating officer arrested Oelwein resident 29 year old Jordan Johnson Gallmeyer.

Gallmeyer was charged with Driving While his License is Suspended.
The charge is a simple misdemeanor.

An Oelwein woman has been arrested after causing a disturbance in downtown Oelwein.

At about 5:30pm Thursday (Sept. 9), Oelwein Police officers followed up on a report of a disturbance in the 100 block of South Frederick in Oelwein.

During the investigation, 32 year old Megan Elizabeth McAllister was taken into custody.

She is being charged with Public Intoxication, Interference with Official Acts, and Assault on Persons in Certain Occupations.

Oelwein Police have arrested a southwest Wisconsin woman for outstanding warrants in Northeast Iowa.

Shortly after 11pm Friday (Sept. 3), officers took 30 year old Audreana Marie Capps of Prairie du Chien, into custody.

Capps was wanted on three Fayette County Sheriff's warrants. The original charges were Gathering Where Controlled Substances are Used, Possession of Marijuana, Carrying Weapons, and Driving While her License is Suspended.
