Severe weather has not only been ripping through the Cedar Valley, but through out the entire country. One Georgia man survived a lightning strike that literally blew him out of his boots.

Sean O'Connor of Coweta County, GA (near Atlanta) had just picked up his rake when he was suddenly thrown across his driveway. It took him a few seconds, but he eventually came to the conclusion that he had just been struck by lightning.

When I noticed my boots were on the other side of the driveway and I heard the thunder, I realized it was lightning that had just hit me. When I stood up, I could smell burnt hair and felt like I had a bad sunburn on my leg,"

After talking to his wife, she encouraged him to go to the hospital. He was held for 24 hours due to an irregular heartbeat. He returned home with lower back pain, a few scrapes but no permanent damage.
