[Watch] Iowa Nursing Student Won Big on The Price Is Right
Come on down! You're the next contestant on the Price Is Right!
Can I be straight with you? I've always dreamed of the booming announcer calling my name to play this iconic game. Who didn't love staying home from school to watch the Price is Right? Well, for one Iowa woman back in the 80s this dream became a reality.
Debra DeYoung, a nursing student from Le Mars, Iowa had her name called to play a few rounds on the iconic game show. She speeds through the first round where she bids $650 on a dish washer beating out the other competitors.
DeYoung competes on the show in 1982 when Bob Barker ran the whole operation.
Then she gets taken to the next round for a go at Give or Keep. I'm pretty sure we all know what that game is about. The general idea of this game is to keep items that are more expensive than the ones you give away. She was playing for a pretty nice looking camping trailer.
The total amount that she "gave away" during this game totaled to $101, but Debra kept $106!
I know this episode came out several decades ago, but my heart was still pounding.
Not only did she get to keep the three items she won during that game, but she also got to go home with the camper. After all these years, I wonder if she's still enjoying that trailer and the drill she won...
