Lainie Brooks – “Sometimes It’s The Simplest Things In Life That Are The Most Precious”

"Lainie, you get two high's in life." "The first is when your children are born, and the second is when your grandchildren are born." Words of wisdom from one of the wisest men I've ever known, my dad. I have to admit, the day my son Cassidy was born was the most awe inspiring moment of my life.

While I'm waiting on my "second high", I LOVE to drag out old photo albums and video tapes to look back at the 'special' moments in life. Moments like my son's first steps, calling me mama for the first time, riding his bike without training wheels, school sports, graduating from high school, and then graduating from college.

I ran across this video today, and it brought back flood of memories. Not only did my son love to play in the rain, but he was a HUGE fan of mud puddles!

This video is of a little girl named Harper experiencing her first time seeing and feeling the rain. Watching her smile and then asking her daddy to take her out in it again made me giggle. Children just have this innocent way of reminding us that it's the simplest things in life that are the most precious.
