Kurt Warner Surprises Single Mom With Ultimate Mother’s Day Gift
Warner takes "Iowa nice" to a whole new level!
Kurt Warner and his wife Brenda are using the success and resources they have to make the world a better place. The Burlington native is part of the reason that one single mom could have a very special Mother's Day this year.
Arizona mother of four, Lakeysha, was expecting to move into an empty and fresh home that Friday, but the Warners gave her the early Mother's Day surprise of a lifetime.
"I was really surprised, overwhelmed...I did not expect to walk into all of this," explained Lakeysha.
This new house that Lakeysha purchased through Habitat For Humanity had a few extra surprises here and there for her and the whole family.
Located in Tempe, Arizona, the home was completely furnished AND had a fully stocked pantry.
Not too shabby Kurt...
Superbowl MVP Kurt Warner and his wife were behind this act of kindness. Brenda and Kurt got the family of five $10,000 worth of furniture from an Arizona furniture store, according to the news story.
According to reports, the couple has been doing this sort of philanthropy work through their foundation First Things First for more than twenty years now.
So far, they have helped create almost thirty homes.
The Iowa native shared a statement on his foundation's website about what this sort of work means to him.
"Brenda and I have experienced extreme highs and lows - and through it all our faith and our family are the fabric that holds everything together. It is our wish to share these blessings and beliefs with others who have lost hope in themselves, their talents, and life."
