Looking at three major categories, WalletHub has determined the best states to spend your golden years and Iowa makes the Top 10.

Affordability, heath care, and and overall quality of life are the three main categories focused on for the WalletHub study. They compared the 50 states across 41 key metrics. The data set ranges from adjusted cost of living to weather to quality of public hospitals.

According to the data, Iowa made the top five in the categories of elderly-friendly labor market and health-care facilities per capita. The biggest ding against the Hawkeye state was affordability. In the end, Iowa rank fourth overall.
