Evansdale Woman Wins Hefty Lottery Prize
Some people really have all of the luck!
If you're like me and don't usually play the lottery or buy scratch off tickets because you think you will never win, you should think again. I've honestly been slowly changing my attitude about lottery games after seeing the luck that some Iowans have.
One of the most recent big wins was right here in the Cedar Valley!
A woman from Black Hawk County named Diane Oltmann purchased a scratch off ticket game from Station Mart, located at 1119 River Forest Road in Evansdale last month. She bought a ticket for the game "$100,000 Mega Crossword."
Oltmann of Evansdale ended up winning a pretty sizeable chunk of change through the Iowa Lottery last month. According to Iowa Lottery officials, the Eastern Iowa woman won $10,000 after playing the scratch off lottery game.
She actually won the 74th prize of $10,000 from the "$100,000 Mega Crossword."
Oltmann claimed it on the following Monday at the Iowa Lottery's regional office in Cedar Rapids. Luckily, she was able to fit that huge check in the car!
Iowans have won more than $5 billion dollars since the Iowa Lottery first started back in the mid 1980s. In addition, these lottery games have assisted the state in raising approximately $2.3 billion to help fund important programs in the Hawkeye State.
