For months now, the people of Evansdale and Elk Run have been working together on a new project that would benefit the community; an off-leash dog park.

Located inside Bunger Park in the 4600 Block of Lafayette Road, this new dog park, called Willow Run Dog Park, is officially open for business. This entire project came together as a combination of community fundraising and grant money.

According to a Facebook post, the Evansdale and Elk Run facility received Black Hawk Gaming Grant at the end of last year. At the time, organizers had already fundraised $36,000.

The team behind the new dog park shared their gratefulness to the community in a social media statement the other day,

"Grateful. That’s how we’re feeling. We have the best community and surrounding communities. Thank you for supporting another park being added to our area."

This grand opening took place on Saturday, June 17th. Regular hours for Willow Run are 7am~8pm.

Willow Run Dog Park A yearlong membership to the park will cost you $20 or $2 per visit.

  • No puppies under 4 months allowed
  • Dogs must be on leash when they exit and enter the park
  • Dogs in season are not allowed
