Eastern Iowa Brewers Go For The Gold In Olympics of Beer!
Pour one out for Iowa beers...

There are a few things Iowans love more so than anything else; pork tenderloins, college sports, and beer. Not only do we love beer, but we're dang good at brewing it.
It seems like we're not the only ones who think that either.
Several Iowa brewers were recognized for their outstanding work at the World Beer Cup. It is frequently called the "Olympics of beer" and is considered the most prestigious competition in the world.
The competition was created by the Brewers Association back in 1996 to celebrate both the art and science of brewing.
This year's event took place on May 10th in Nashville, Tennessee. The event featured multiple Iowa brewers recognized for their fantastic brews. Here are the several different Iowa brewers who medaled in this competition.
Backpocket Brewing in Coralville: Pumpkin Ale, Pumpkin Beer Category, Gold Medal
Confluence Brewing Company, Des Moines: ChewBOCKa, German-Style Bock or Maibock Category, Gold Medal
AND Old Chungus, Wood and Barrel Aged Strong Beer Category, Gold Medal
PIVO Brewery and Blepta Studios, Calmar: Decorah Nordic Gruit, Historical Beer, Gold Medal
Lion Bridge Brewing Company, Cedar Rapids: Old 17 Irish Stout, Classic Irish Style Dry Stout Category, Silver Medal
Congratulations to all of the amazing Iowa brewers for their hard work, dedication, and creativity!
Cheers!
