Donutland Has Officially Opened Its Fourth Iowa Location
Good news for folks over in Central Iowa! The popular donut chain Donutland has officially opened their new location in Urbandale!
Thanks to a new article from the Des Moines Register, we got word that Donutland is now open at 4820 100th Street in Urbandale. The new shop held its soft opening over the weekend, completely selling out of all their products!
According to their website, Donutland used to be a "large franchise," but now only has a few remaining locations. There used to be a shop at 4941 Douglas Avenue in Des Moines, but it closed back in 2009. The city of Cedar Rapids is home to one of the last original Donutland stores. The page reads:
"Established in Cedar Rapids in 1971, Donutland's menu and design have been conserved to preserve its rich flavors and history. For many customers, they're filled with nostalgia when visiting because we have kept our classic Donutland appearance."
Donutland currently has two Cedar Rapids locations, 4307 Center Point Rd NE and 2606 Williams Blvd SW, as well as one in Iowa City at 1681 S 1st Ave. Each store offers more than 40 different flavors of donuts, including long johns, cinnamon rolls, bismarks, and their famous cake donuts. My personal favorites are the chocolate on chocolate and the blueberry cake donuts... YUM!
The new Donutland in Urbandale is open Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until they sell out). You can check out the official Facebook page HERE.
