A Northeast Iowa resident has lost his delivery truck to a fire.


At about 8:45am Monday (May 10), the Fayette County Sheriff received a report that a vehicle was on fire at a residence in the 2100 block of "Y" Avenue, in rural Sumner.

Sheriff's deputies, who arrived at the residence first, found a 2008 Ford delivery truck, engulfed in flames.

The driver of the truck, 42 year old Matthew O'Kones of West Union, had gotten out of the truck without being injured.

The Sumner Fire Department responded, and extinguished the blaze.

The delivery truck was totaled. A dollar figure on the damage was not available. The cause of the fire was not released.
