There is still a lot of talk about the housing market in the US, and what homes are selling for. According to a report from The Iowa Torch, Midwestern cities are still about average in the ongoing housing-overvalue market trend.

Despite homes selling quickly and for more than you may think they're worth, there are still some real bargains here in the Hawkeye State. Sure, some may be in more rural communities. Sure, others might be major fixer-uppers... but occasionally, you may find a real gem.

Today, I feel I've found just that: a nice home, very modestly priced, that doesn't appear to need a ton of work right off the bat.

Located in Dayton, Iowa, this home has an asking price of only $35,000. Dayton is a tiny Iowa town, sporting a population of under 900. Before we explore, Dayton is about 2 hours and 20 minutes from Cedar Rapids, and just over 90 minutes from Waterloo. In other words, it's not terribly close by. It's much closer to Des Moines or Ames.

If it's still important to you to have a modestly priced home, it's worth a look. Even if you're not in the market for one, it's still fun to take a peek inside and outside, right?
