In 2021, a show about a girl's soccer team from New Jersey surviving a plane crash and resorting to savage means to survive, quickly captured global attention. The Showtime Network show, 'Yellowjackets' takes place in two different time periods; the 90s and present day.

Both timelines follow some of the survivors as they navigate the trauma of the crash,  cult-like activities, and cannibals.

One timeline shows the girls navigating the terrors of this possibly supernatural situation in the 90s right after the crash, and the other follows a few of the survivors as adults.

It became an immediate hit with both viewers and critics. Securing seven Emmy nominations earlier this summer in its freshman season, the smash hit is set to get even better when it returns to television screens on March 24th.

This past summer, news came out that Iowa native Elijah Wood would be taking on an exciting role. Wood will be playing a character called " Citizen Detective, Walter."

While we don't know much about his character yet, we do know that he won't be series regular. According to Variety, "Wood will appear in a season long guest starring role as Walter, a dedicated Citizen Detective who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she won’t see coming."

Do I sense a possible romance between this guy and Christina Ricci's psychotic character Misty? Maybe...

In a recent interview with Ricci, the star talked about how happy she was to be working with Wood again. The two were co-stars on the 1997 film shared "The Ice Storm" back when they were just 15.

The former child star confirmed that a majority of her scenes in season two of the show were "two-man scenes" with Elijah. She went on to say that working with the Cedar Rapids native was "so much fun" and that she was happy to be working with him again nearly 25 years later.

However, there was a bit of a caveat to this exciting reunion it seemed.

"I remember everything and he remembers nothing, just like every man I've ever known," said the 43-year-old.
