
Authorities Have Released the Name of a Man Killed in a Linn County Accident
Authorities have now released the name of the driver killed in a one-vehicle accident Tuesday night (June 22) near Mt. Vernon.
According to the Linn County Sheriff's office, the incident happened at about 8:15pm Tuesday, at the intersection of Highway 30 and Kepler Drive, west of Mt. Vernon.
The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, identified as 57 year old Ted Sorem of Marshalltown, was headed east on Highway 30, when he lost control, and the vehicle headed into the ditch, crashing into a tree.

Sorem was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Linn County Sheriff is investigating the accident.
