Winneshiek County authorities are charging a Decorah man with livestock neglect, after receiving complaints from the public of mistreatment of animals on his property and failing to dispose of dead animals.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff's Office got several reports of neglected livestock at three farms, owned by the same man in northern Winneshiek County, near Burr Oak and Hesper.

Deputies executed a search warrant on September 29th at all three farms.
As a result, 40 year old James Falck of Decorah is being charged with 2 counts of Serious Misdemeanor-Neglect of Livestock, and multiple counts of Failure to Properly Dispose of Dead Animals.

The Winneshiek County Sheriff was assisted in the investigation by a local veterinarian, the Winneshiek County Sanitarian, and the Winneshiek County Attorney's Office.
