AmVets Riders Of Cedar Falls Remembers Waterloo Veteran
A "Thunder Salute" is where the AmVets Riders of Cedar Falls and other communities will drive by a veterans house to show their support and honor them on last days. They rev their engines and bikes in a salute to the veteran. This is exactly what happened for a Waterloo veteran recently.
According to KWWL, U.S. Army Veteran James Earl Myers used to be a part of many of these "Thunder Salutes" for others over the years. He would join in on the ride and rev his engine as well in similar salutes. Well, this time it was the AmVets Riders of Cedar Falls and other communities turn to ride by Myers house and give him the "Thunder Salute". Myers was battling brain cancer when last Wednesday his "Thunder Salute" showed up. Although they had to practice social distancing they were still able to give a final salute to a hero.
Unfortunately they did announce via their Facebook page that Myers did pass away this weekend. Thank you U.S Army Vet James Earl Myers, you are a true hero.
