Owned by sommelier and San Diego native Dana Swasand, the Wine Shop allowed her to offer customers a personalized wine experience.
According to the business website, the staff offered classes about wine at the store.
Unfortunately, it looks like Swasand has decided to close up shop.

The news came as a bit of a surprise for customers.
Earlier this week, a statement was released on Facebook regarding the future of the Wine Shop.
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closing of The Wine Shop," the post reads. "We cannot express enough gratitude for the incredible support and loyalty you’ve shown us. You have truly made this journey unforgettable."
When Will The Wine Shop Close
In this initial Facebook post, which you can read in full here, the staff said the final day of business for the Wine Shop will be on February 21st.
The business owners did not share a specific reason for the business closure.
However, they did confirm that they will be offering some great deals on retail wine bottles during their last week and a half in business.
These bottles are 30% off of their retail price.
We will keep you updated on what's to become of that space. There are two spacious apartment units above the shop that are also owned by Swasand.
