For the past four years, I've called the Hawkeye State home.

I remember hopping into my car on New Year's Day with my mom and driving all the way from my hometown of Lords Valley, Pennsylvania to Cedar Falls, Iowa.

There was so much fear but an equal amount of excitement!

For 22 years I called the East Coast my home. I was born in New York, moved to a little rural town in the Poconos, went to college in Syracuse, moved back in with my parents during the COVID-19 pandemic, and now I'm here.

I was very lucky and got to travel to some amazing places out east. My parents were both born and raised in NYC; my dad called the Bronx home for years, he even would sneak into the old Yankee Stadium to run the bases.

My mom lived with her entire family in a part of Manhattan called Inwood.

Since we were just eighty miles from New York City, we made plenty of trips out to the city when I grew up.

I remember going to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall a few times.

Most summers we would travel south to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins in Virginia Beach. Some of my favorite memories are probably spent wading in the ocean in Norfolk, Virginia.

If you ever find yourself in my old stomping ground, here are a few things that you NEED to see!

Kerri Mac Looks Back at Her First Year of Pet Parenthood

I am honestly shocked by just how many photos on my phone are of my cats. The worst part is that these aren't even half of the pics I've taken this year!
