Weird: Nebraska Just Had a Fairly Significant Earthquake

Here's something you don't see every day. Nebraska just had an earthquake and it was surprisingly strong for that area.

The USGS just reported that a moderate earthquake hit the Nebraska/South Dakota border registering a 4.2 on the Richter Scale. Here's the exact location as shared by the USGS.

The UTC time translates into around 10:25 am our time this morning. A 4.2 earthquake is technically referred to as a "light" quake. While it's capable of rattling dishes and other indoor items if you're close enough to it, it's not likely to do any real damage.

I find it interesting that within just a few minutes of the quake being reported by the USGS, already 7 people contacted them reporting that they felt it.
