Waterloo Public Schools Give Details for 2021 Graduation
As we near the end of another unique school year, we also are nearing graduation. In the past that's meant ceremonies, parties and large gatherings. Most of these are still frowned upon in 2021, but that's not stopping Waterloo Public Schools from having a more normal end to the 2020/2021 school year.
Here information on the upcoming Class of 2021 graduation ceremonies:
East & West graduations will be held at Young Arena, home of the Waterloo Black Hawks. (125 Commercial Street, Waterloo).
Expo’s graduation will be held at Expo High School.
Each graduate will be given four wristbands. A graduate’s guests will be asked to sit together and socially distance between groups of guests as much as possible.
If you do not need all four wristbands, you are asked to return unused bands to your school’s office for redistribution. This will be done via a lottery drawing to those who request additional guests.
While the arena’s skating rink ice will be fully covered, graduates should be aware of potentially cooler temperatures on the floor of the arena as they select attire for the ceremony.
Waterloo Public Schools will be livestreaming the ceremonies on the Waterloo Community School District Facebook page, where the videos will be permanently located to view and share.
There will be additional information parents will receive from your school, including where to park.
In-person graduations will be held on the dates originally scheduled:
Expo’s graduation will be at Expo on Monday, May 24 at 6pm.
West’s graduation will be at Young Arena on Tuesday, May 25 at 6pm.
East’s graduation will be at Young Arena on Thursday, May 27 at 6pm.
